i took the kids easter white dresses with us when we went out to marfa.  i am not one to normally dress them in bright white for the occasion but i wanted to bring them out due to a scene that i had in my head.  i knew the land was in drought and that there were blackened fields from fires so i thought this might make for a cool juxtaposition of kids in easter white surrounded by black fields. i am framing this one.

easter weekend was spent out in marfa, texas where we relaxed in the sun and made sure to not let the clock rule our lives.  josh and i have been coming out here for 9 years now and there is a reason we keep coming back.  life just seems to be more real when i am out here in this beautiful country.  the railroad revival tour also brought us out to visit and i enjoyed taking photos for myself. el cosmico was the perfect place for a concert and the entire camp was illuminated by the stars and the stage!  what a perfect easter weekend.

the railroad revival tour featured old crow medicine show, edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros and mumford and sons.

Katie and Ian are the sweetest people in the world.  I loved how excited they were about their texas wedding and what they had in mind.  Ian is from London and had a whole bunch of out of town guests come over for the wedding.  His idea of a wedding included a ranch with Shiner Bock but Katie wanted to have a traditional outdoor wedding in Houston.  They compromised and Ian got his ranch party and Katie got to have her Houston wedding...both were beautiful!

Here are some shots we did before the bbq and dancing. Katie's parents taught two stepping to everyone and it was fun to see all of the gents from england sporting their cowboy boots.
