mr. leon told me he was sad that he did not get to show you the tour with miss stella so i told him he could take us on the upstairs tour. he is just one month shy of learning to walk so he is on the go! i am learning quickly that boys will be boys! boys = destructive and into everything dirty and dangerous. leon certainly is proving his boyhood. i really fear when we are done with the addition and he takes to the stairs by himself. i guess an ugly baby gate needs to be purchased. unless you know of a good looking baby gate out there?

a boy in saltwater seawees is pretty much the cutest thing ever, don't you think?! when my daughter was learning to walk, i was obsessed with getting good-looking gates for our stairs. ugly grey plastic ones were going to depress me. we shopped unsuccessfully for a while... and then she fell down the stairs while my husband filled the bathtub for her one night. then how awful did i feel about being so vain about my baby gates! she was fine. and i still wanted nice gates. but the next day i ordered some simple black metal gates and they've looked great (with our grey walls and white moulding) and corralled both the kids and the dog wonderfully ever since. i wish i remembered the name for you. but nice gates are out there!

kati,
yes, boys look so cute in those shoes! :) i love dressing him in those. i will look for a baby gate and if i find one i will be sure to blog about it. :) i may even make my own and make it pretty. because we have to have all things attractive over here.

Your kids are so dang cute + I just love your work! We found a gate that I wouldn't necessarily claim is hip, but it's not fug-hideous and it's been 15-month-twin proof so far. It's the deco gate via Babies r Us... http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4322416&prodFindSrc=search

We like our baby gates - made by KidCo - I think it's their Metro line, but I'm not sure. Comes in white, black or aluminum metals (that are heat-resistant in case you need to put in front of a fire place) and can support more than the weight of a child hanging on them (not that I know this from experience with my boy...oh wait, yes I do!) They are great because you can buy the number of sections you need or do a pressure-mount one and either way, you can pop them on and off pretty easily if you want to remove them for a party, etc. Website is: http://kidcosafety.com Hope that helps!
