![]() Brookeabout me: i usually am getting up at 8 am. this is no easy task as i have been up late working on something important. my husband, josh, is making sure that i am fully awake before he leaves for work. i love that he cares so much, but i hate to wake up. i may look into getting one of those alarms that rolls around the house until you wake up! after i decide to move, i am normally racing around the house getting stella, my four year old daughter, dressed and ready for her school day. morning cartoons are a must while breakfast is being served and lunch is made. this may sound like i am preparing a nice meal but it usually consists of lucky charms or fruit loops….lunch is a frozen burrito, the organic kind, that makes me feel better. we are out the door by 9:15 and off to school. next, i make a quick stop to get some caffeine. you must know that i am addicted to that stuff! my order is a non- fat double shot latte in a single cup. if i am lucky i put a cube of raw sugar in there. i usually head over to the studio to check emails, edit, blog, work on orders (if i am not shooting a session). i may throwmyself a curve ball at take the day off if things are ahead. that’s unusual! just as i am about to finish my last twitter (follow me) i am off to pick stella up from school. usually i can’t work after this time because stella needs my undivided attention. four year olds are demanding we usually are off doing something that stimulates her brain. this may include the following: an outing at the park, gymnastics class, a play date, her begging me to watch a video, painting her nails, dress up, hanging out at the studio playing with the copy machine, or an outing to target to look for toys. 5 pm comes along and i am usually frantically picking up from the morning routines mess. i can’t stand a mess! Come 6 pm we are all hungry and cranky. we try to decide where to eat dinner or what to eat for dinner. usually we are heading out for dinner because i did not think about eating until now and hate to cook and go to the grocery store. if there is food on the table it is because josh did it! he should get the "husband of the year" award. stella gets a bath and gets ready for bed - we read a book or sing some songs and i try really hard not to end up in her bed for the night. by now i am ready to sleep….but i am back up again and either working on something or hanging out with josh. we love to watch tv and veg out with a good glass of wine. the food network (i pretend to like cooking), the office, modern family and the middle are what we love to watch. josh may surprise me with one of his netflix picks; they are really bad choices most of the time. once a week we try to go on a non-romantic date which includes sushi and starring at the man making it. peaceful dinners are nice. :) whew, that was a mouthful. i have long days and did i mention i am expecting a baby boy in may? we are excited to add on to the family!
on a more serious note, here are a few deeper passions that i have: a good conversation with listening ears, a long laugh, the way my daughter smells after she wakes up in the morning, coca cola, a clean desk, a to do list (done), being organized, clean sheets, traveling to fun places, good music, mexico, marfa texas, vegging out in front of the tv, my mac comptuer, real people, and my family and friends.
i find it to be a privilege to capture life.
